Randomized groups of 10 BALB/c mice (4-week-old, female) were challenged intraperitoneally with the wild-type, the isogenic knockout mutant of virB1-89K (ΔvirB1-89K), and the complementary strain CΔvirB1-89K, at a dose of 108 CFU (0.1 ml of each strain) respectively. In parallel, Combretastatin A4 in vivo another group of mice was injected with the same volume of THY medium as a negative control. Mice were monitored for clinical SAHA HDAC clinical trial signs and survival time for 7 days.
