The dependence of doping amount of the CN-doped NKN ceramics on t

The dependence of doping amount of the CN-doped NKN ceramics on the piezoelectric and ferroelectric properties has been investigated. The results show that the CN-doped NKN specimens sintered at 1075 degrees C present excellent “”hard”" piezoelectric properties of k(p)=40%, k(t)=45%, k(33)=57%, and ferroelectric

properties E-c=25.5 kV/cm and P-r = 22.63 mu C/cm(2). The mechanical quality factor (Q(m)) of NKN ceramics with CN additive is extraordinarily high (1933). (C) 2010 American Institute of Physics. [doi: 10.1063/1.3493732]“
“The effects of platinum www.selleckchem.com/products/anlotinib-al3818.html metal nanoparticles on a conjugated polymer were investigated by monitoring the electronic structures and measuring the electrical properties of poly(p-phenylene vinylene) (PPV) and PPV/Pt nanocomposites films. Enhanced current density in PPV/Pt nanocomposite films was obtained by the incorporation of Pt nanoparticles into the conjugated

polymer PPV. This result agrees well with our observation of an increase in the electron affinity and an increase in roughness with increasing Pt nanoparticle content. (C) 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Appl Polym Sci 119: 811-815, 2011″
“Schistosomiasis is a disease prevalent throughout the world, but the involvement of ovary by Schistosoma mansoni eggs is rarely found. The pathological mechanisms involved in the infestation of the ovary remain unknown and the diagnosis usually occurs, retrospectively, by histopathological examination. An uncommon case of ovarian pseudotumor due to Manson’s schistosomiasis is reported.

A 40-year-old woman referred AZD8186 manufacturer with recurrent poorly characterized pelvic pain underwent surgical exploration and right salpingo-oophorectomy to treat a mixed cystic and solid ovarian tumor demonstrated preoperatively by transvaginal ultrasound of pelvis. The pathological examination

of surgical product revealed a pseudotumor due to granulomatous reaction triggered by eggs of S. mansoni. ALK inhibitor The patient was referred to clinical treatment with oxamniquine and remained asymptomatic for a year follow-up.

Ovarian ectopic S. mansoni is rarely reported in the most current literature; however, this actual proportion of ovarian Manson’s schistosomiasis may not represent the real female genital involvement rates and reflect an underestimation of internal genital disease.”
“This study reports the experimental observation and analysis of self-biased magnetoelectric (ME) effect in three-phase laminates. The 2-2 L-T mode laminates were fabricated by attaching nickel (Ni) plates and ME particulate composite plates having 3-0 connectivity with 0.948Na(0.5)K(0.5)NbO(3)-0.052LiSbO(3) (NKNLS) matrix and Ni(0.8)Zn(0.2)Fe(2)O(4) (NZF) dispersant. The presence of two types of ferromagnetic materials, Ni and NZF, results in built-in magnetic bias due to difference in their magnetic susceptibilities and coercivity. This built-in bias (H(bias)) provides finite ME effect at zero applied magnetic dc field.
